Approval by PTA for banning more than 1000 sites in Pakistan

Over 1,000 pornographic websites are in the process of being blocked by internet service providers (ISP), following directives issued by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).

While by no means a blanket ban given the vast amount of sites containing explicit content online, an official in a local ISP has confirmed that the PTA has provided a list of 1,000 most frequented porn sites in Pakistan that are to be blocked.
“They are adding to the list on a daily basis” confirmed the source.

The Express Tribune
has received a list of over 170,000 websites the PTA purportedly may ban in Pakistan, however, an official from a local ISP provider states that such a blanket ban is unlikely.

“Blocking 170,000 sites is not feasible for any operator. The screening time on a per request basis will essentially slow the internet down to make it unusable.”

Websites currently blocked by ISPs redirect users to a page with a message that reads: “This page is blocked due to restrictions enforced by the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA).”

Earlier this year, a hacker had managed to bypass security on the
Supreme Court’s website, posting a message that called on the PTA to ban pornographic websites or face further online attacks. A similar attack was carried out
on the PTA’s own website.

South Africa’s Parnell converts to Islam

JOHANNESBURG: Wayne Parnell, the South Africa left-arm seamer, has announced that he has converted to Islam.

Parnell confirmed in a statement on Thursday that he converted to Islamic faith in January this year and is considering to change his name to Waleed, which means 'Newborn Son'.

Parnell confirmed that he will "continue to respect the team's endorsement of alcoholic beverages." South Africa's Test team is sponsored by Castle Lager, a local beer. Hashim Amla, also of Muslim faith, does not wear the beer logo on his playing kit after making a special arrangement with CSA because of his religious beliefs.

Proteas team manager Mohamed Moosajee, himself a Muslim, said Parnell's Muslim teammates Hashim Amla and Imran Tahir had not influenced his decision to convert from Christianity.

Supporting Moosajee's denial of influence by Amla, South African players said he had never attempted to convert them to his religion, although they had all been very impressed by the discipline and strict adherence that Amla showed to his religion, by refusing to participate in celebrations with them that involved liquor, staying steadfast in his daily prayers even while on tour, and refusing to wear the kit sponsored by South African beer brand Castle Lager.

Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA)has issued licence to ‘Geo Super.

Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) on the directives of Supreme Court, has issued licence to ‘Geo Super’ to operate from Pakistan after more than two months, Geo News reported.

According to spokesman for ‘Geo’, PEMRA issued licence to ‘Geo Super’ late Wednesday night.

Pakistan's only sports channel was closed by Pemra for over 60 days. It had been more than 60 days that Geo Super had been closed down due to refusal of the government and Pemra to allow the channel to uplink sports events, news and views from Pakistan.

The Supreme Court on June 06 not only directed Pemra to immediately issue a licence to Geo Super but also ordered that the compliance report to this effect be submitted to the court within three days. Ruling that Pemra had no right to keep the case pending for four years, the court observed that under Article 4 of the Constitution, no excuses from Pemra were tenable anymore.
The three-member bench of the apex court comprising Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice Tariq Pervaiz and Justice Amir Hani Muslim heard the case regarding non-issuance of licence to Geo Super.
People from different walk of life have expressed their pleasure on the issuance of licence to Geo Super.

Hydal Electricity generated by WAPDA varies between two extremities i.e. between minimum of 2414 MW and maximum of 6761 MW depending upon the river flow through the whole year.

Total Power Generation Capacity of Pakistan (including all sources) is19855 MW and the electricity demand (as of today 20-04-2010) is 14500 MW and PEPCO is merely generating 10000 MW.

So it is obvious that these 15-20 hrs power shutdowns in most parts of the country are not because of the lack of generation capacity but only because of IMF / World Bank policies imposed on our nation by Govt. The Power Generation companies are not buying Furnace Oil from PSO by saying they don’t have money to do that but we are all paying for Electricity that is generated from Furnace Oil. This is the reason that top refineries like PRL are operating at 40% capacities. IMF / World bank has imposed to reduce budget deficit by importing less crude oil. But due to this fact all our industries are under severe crisis. None of our political party who are in Assembly is ready to speak on it because every one is blessed by US / IMF / World Bank.

Dear Pakistani’s,

This is a time to show your social activism your power and strength. It is your silence which is deafening and your couldn’t care less attitude which makes the people in power more powerful evasive and secure in their Air conditioned offices.

PLEASE STAND UP AND BE COUNTED:

Please don't stop this e-mail and forward it to as many people as possible.

Thanks

WE WANT ELECTRICITY IN PAKISTAN.

Electricity now is @11 Rs. per unit, and it will increase after every two months as directed by (American) IMF policies.

Also CHINA offers to Pakistan Electricity for justRs.200 Monthly Bill and Unlimited Usage of Electricity but our government is not taking the offer seriously. This is because there will be neither kick backs nor any commissions to be pocketed by the strong mafia of politicians and bureaucrats.

These people are there because of your votes. Let them serve you rather than rule you……

NOW THIS IS OUR TIME TO SHOW THE GOVERNMENT YOUR STRENGTH.

Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden was killed on Sunday in a firefight with U.S. forces in Pakistan

WASHINTON: Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden was killed on Sunday in a firefight with U.S. forces in Pakistan and his body was recovered, President Barack Obama announced on Sunday.

"Justice has been done," Obama said in a dramatic, late-night White House speech announcing the death of the elusive mastermind of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the New York and Washington.

Obama said U.S. forces led the operation that killed bin Laden. No Americans were killed in the operation and they took care to avoid civilian casualties, he said. "The United States has conducted an operation that killed Osama bin Laden, the leader of al Qaeda and a terrorist who is responsible for the murder of thousands of men, women and children," Obama said. It is a major accomplishment for Obama and his national security team, after many Americans had given up hope of ever finding bin Laden.

A crowd gathered outside the White House to celebrate, chanting, "USA, USA." Obama's predecessor, George W. Bush, had repeatedly vowed to bring bin Laden to justice "dead or alive" for the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on New York and Washington that killed nearly3,000 people, but never did before leaving office in early 2009.

U.S. officials said that after searching in vain for the al Qaeda leader since he disappeared in Afghanistan in late 2001, the Saudi-born extremist was killed in the Pakistani town of Abbotabad and his body recovered. Having the body may help convince any doubters that bin Laden is really dead.

He had been the subject of a search since he eluded U.S. soldiers and Afghan militia forces in a large-scale assault on the Tora Bora Mountains of Afghanistan in 2001. The trail quickly went cold after he disappeared and many intelligence officials believed he had been hiding in Pakistan.

While in hiding, bin Laden had taunted the West and advocated his militant Islamist views in videotapes spirited from his hideaway. Besides Sept. 11, Washington has also linked bin Laden to a string of attacks -- including the 1998 bombings of American embassies in Kenya and Tanzania and the 2000 bombing of the warship USS Cole in Yemen.

Sachin Tendulkar dismissal on Saeed Ajmal bowl

Sachin Tendulkar dismissal on Saeed Ajmal bowl

Here are some pictures taken from star cricket about Sachin Tendulkar dismissal

Which unfortunately was not given out after REVIEW .

1- Here is the original bowl, check out where it pitched. Also bowl has shown on Sachin front paid, it is clearly touching. Also it is a straight bowl didn't turn that much.

2- Here technology is used, In white line see the ball clearly touch the wicket on the middle stump, but it was bent down towards leg stump with the help of technology as show in blue line. Note a simple touch to this line can change the ball position and same happened here.

3- Here is photoshop work now which shows from where the bowl turned towards the leg stump. As shown on the arrow, at the end of white line the ball position was straight and it was moving straight. In blue line it has shown that how the ball spin towards leg stump. Which clearly show human interference.

4- It is clear for every one what happened then. It was a clear out.

If you check out the original video then you will see that the ball movement was not the same before the review. As a cricketer I respect Tendulkar but taking review on decisions like this doesn't worth a cricketer like him. He should apologize for his reaction on this decision. If ICC is the combination of honest people then why this happened? I must say, that they didn't want Pakistan to win. They wanted Sachin to make a 100 against Pakistan, collectively which would be 100th hundred in both formats for him. Being involve in evil works like this, ICC chief executive and other stuff should resigned from their seat. Because in their presence cricket is converting to WWE wrestling, may be worst than wrestling. Nothing to say more, waiting for your comments.
